About MotilityCount ApS
Key Milestones
MotilityCount ApS was founded in 2010 entrepreneurs and scientists with many years of experience in fertility treatment (IVF treatment). MotilityCount has developed the SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test – a home test for early diagnosis of male fertility, SwimCount™ Sperm Care – a dietary supplement, and the SwimCount™ Harvester – an innovative sperm purification method that can improve treatment outcomes in IUI, IVF, and ICSI. Additionally, MotilityCount is behind the PetCount™ Sperm Quality Test and VetCount™ Harvester.
MotilityCount’s ownership includes SEED Capital, Denmark’s largest venture capital fund for early-stage investments, and the company is also supported by the Market Development Fund and Welfare Tech Invest.

2014 - Patent Granted
In 2014 the patent for the SwimCount™ Membrane Swim-Up Techlology was granted.
2015 - CE Approval Obtained
The SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test recieves the European Union CE Regulatory Approvel and is ready to help men with an early diagnosis of their fertility potential.
2019 - US FDA 510(k) Clearance Obtained
In 2019, the SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test obtained the US FDA 510(k) clearance and was now ready for the US market.
2022 - Upgraded to an IVDR CE Approval
The CE Regulatory Approval for the SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test was upgraded to an IVDR CE regulatory Approval in 2022.
2024 - CE MDR Regulatory Approval Obtained
The SwimCount™ Harvester has finally obtained the CE MDR Regulatory Approval and is now ready to support men, women and couples in IUI, IVF and ICSI treatments.
2025 - US FDA 510(k) Clearance Obtained
In 2025, we expect that the US FDA 510(k) Clearance to be obtained for the SwimCount™ Harvester.
SwimCount™ 'Every Day Counts'
SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test
SwimCount™ Sperm Quality Test is the is the world’s first valid and patented sperm quality test for home use that is able to measure the concentration of Progressive Motile Sperm Cells (PMSCs). PMSCs are the only sperm cells that can fertilize an egg and thereby make a woman pregnant in a natural way.
SwimCount™ Harvester
The SwimCount™ Harvester is a purification device that mimics the natural selection of the best Progressive Motile Sperm Cells (PMSCs), with very few manipulation steps. The PMSCs recovered shows increased sperm quality parameters, especially an increased number of PMSCs with a very low DNA Fragmentation and a better Morphology.
SwimCount™ SpermCare
SwimCount™ SpermCare Food Supplement contains Selenium that helps maintain normal sperm production and Zinc that helps with normal fertility and reproduction. Zinc also contributes to maintain testosterone levels in the blood.
Selenium and Zinc contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
